Interagency Basic Recruit Training

Description

The Interagency Basic Recruit Training (IBRT) program provides a study of the fundamental concepts that a new recruit should be able to understand and/or perform with their organization upon successful completion of the IBRT. The IBRT program is designed for recruits in an armed or unarmed capacity with the specific knowledge and skills to perform at the entry level within their agency.

The Curriculum Training Standard for this program was tailored to meet the collective training needs of most organizations. The Curriculum is reviewed frequently and modified as needed to align with current best practices.

Prerequisites

The Strategic Partner Agency (SPA) sets their own standards in recruiting and designating basic recruits for training. The recruits are enrolled by their SPA into the Interagency Basic Recruit Training intake. All recruits must meet their agency's recruitment standards prior to arriving for the training program.
